La Fageda

Who are we? 

Created in the early 80’s as an experimental project to try to help people with psychological problems get out their psychiatric hospitals and the social margination they lived in, La Fageda starts their entrepreneurial project in Olot, with the goal of inserting people with psychic problems into the working and social world.

In 1987, La Fageda settles in their current headquarter, the Mas Els Casals, which is found in the Reserva Natural de la Fageda d’en Jordà, in the center of the Parque Natural de la Zona Volcànica de la Garrotxa.

Nowadays, La Fageda in an organization with more than 300 people.

The productive activities are carried out in the Special Work Center. Thanks to the variety of activities that it develops (cow farm, dairy and ice cream factory, jam shop, gardening and visitor service), it is possible to respond to all the work demands that the group of people with intellectual disability or chronic mental illness presents in the Garrotxa.

At the healthcare level La Fageda provides an Occupational Therapy Service, housing services and leisure, sports and culture services.
